Boddie-Noell Executive Terry Lewis Receives Promotion

– Danville Resident Started as Hourly Employee in Area Hardee’s –

DANVILLE, VA. (Dec. 12, 2014) An executive who lives in Danville and started as hourly crew member in a Hardee’s restaurant four decades ago has been promoted to hold top operational responsibility for the largest Hardee’s franchise operator in the United States.

Terry Lewis is responsible for all of Boddie-Noell Enterprises’ 334 Hardee’s locations and a team of thousands of full and part-time restaurant employees in his new role as president of the company’s Hardee’s Restaurant Operations.

Lewis was recently named to the position with the promotions of several members of Rocky Mount N.C.-based Boddie-Noell’s senior leadership team.

Lewis began with Boddie-Noell as a crew member in the Roxboro, N.C. Hardee’s in the early 1970s and progressively rose through the ranks of the company’s Hardee’s operations. Promoted to general manager of the Roxboro location, Lewis later became a trainer for new managers, a district manger and later a director and vice president of operations. Most recently he has been chief operating officer for all of Boddie-Noell’s Hardee’s locations which are located throughout Virginia and North Carolina as well as in South Carolina and Kentucky.

Lewis is often cited by Boddie-Noell as one of the best examples of an employee who starts out literally at the entry level of a restaurant and, through hard work, people skills and a keen understanding of customer service and the company’s culture, rises to a top operational executive position.

“Terry is a shining example to all that you can become whatever you want to be if you set your mind to it,” said Boddie-Noell company co-founder and chairman, Mayo Boddie, Sr. in the company’s internal announcement about Lewis’ promotion. “He began his career as a Hardee’s crew member and has grown and evolved over these many years. He has earned the respect of many and I am eager to see the Hardee’s division continue it outstanding growth under Terry’s leadership.”

Lewis and his wife Hazel have three grown children and three grandchildren. He is a native of Roxboro, NC.
