Giving back to the community is a tradition at Boddie-Noell as old as the company.
We are a company that believes we owe it to our communities and employees to be involved, engaged and to share our gifts with those in need or less fortunate than us. Our Hardee’s restaurants in Virginia have been involved with Special Olympics Virginia for more than 30 years. We have special fundraising events in our nearly 180 Virginia restaurant locations each year in which customers buy a Star to get a coupon sheet good for discounted Hardee’s menu items. Our employees have also worked as volunteers at Special Olympics games and other events. We’ve donated Hardee’s food to participants and employed those with intellectual disabilities in our Hardee’s restaurants.
Supporting Our Military
Boddie-Noell supports organizations for military members serving overseas and for those who lose a military family member killed in war. Our Hardee’s customers have raised tens of thousands of dollars for The Patriot Foundation, the Stars for Troops campaign and other organizations dedicated to service members and their families. Our home office employees in Rocky Mount send care packages to deployed service members whose families are employees of Boddie-Noell.
The list goes on and on. We are committed to serving others in a manner which positively influences our employees, their families and our local communities.
As youth Eagle Scouts, company co-founders Mayo and Nick Boddie established a strong relationship with the Boys Scouts of America early on. That support has remained strong for decades. Recently the local Boy Scouts Council renamed one of the Scout camps in Eastern North Carolina as Camp Boddie in recognition of the brothers’ longtime support.
Boddie-Noell and the Boddies have supported important medical research with the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the East Carolina Heart Institute through the ECU Medical & Health Sciences Foundation. In addition, our Hardee’s restaurants and customers have provided support for research and outreach for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
